The New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) has an exciting opportunity to be part of the development of Secondary Schools Rugby in Auckland as Secondary Schools Rugby Development Officer.
Reporting to the Game Development Manager, the successful applicant for this newly created role will play an important role in working with Wider Auckland Provincial Unions and Rugby Administrators in schools to improve Rugby Outcomes through;
• The development and implementation of programmes to improve participation rates in non- traditional rugby schools; and
• Supporting traditional rugby schools as required.
• Assisting with other aspects of the NZRU’s Wider Auckland Strategy as required.
If you are a self-starter who can plan effectively, be analytical and demonstrate sound decision making capabilities, you will thoroughly enjoy this role. You will motivate and build successful working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders and subsequently thrive on being responsible for the development of Secondary Schools Rugby.
The ideal candidate will have a strong empathy and understanding for Secondary School rugby and sport in general with, preferably, a tertiary qualification and experience in training/teaching.
This role is based in Auckland.
